IMPHAL: The Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has expressed its appreciation to the state government for taking up various measures including serious initiative like distributing edibles items/materials for the entire citizens suffering from Covid-19 Pandemic.
In a press release IPAK further said that it is very unfortunate that the government is yet to take up any sign of measures of distribution of edibles items/materials for those children below 5 years till date. “The act of the state government has proven that it is securing the right to food of the children. The edibles items/materials should be distributed to all the children below the age of five years at the earliest by the state government, the association stated and appealed to the chief minister to look into the matter and solve the problems being faced by the children on the issue.
Stating that it is very unfortunate that the social welfare department has failed to distribute the edibles items of children till now the association asked the department to start doing so at the earliest. IPAK appealed to children shopping centre and people providing service of home delivery like baby food and other baby items not to sell the articles at hiked price, said the statement.
On the other hand, the association stated that it received many complaints from different parts of the state regarding the sale of essential commodities like rice, beans, dal, onion, garlic etc at hiked prices. Taking serious on this issue, the association announced that it will be conducting a field survey at the earliest.
