Inmate heading for home quarantine injured in accident with three others

IMPHAL: An inmate heading home for home quarantine along with three individuals traveling in a Bolero pick up bearing registration No. MNO7D 3177 were severely injured in an accident between Alang village junction and Phungyar headquarter under Kamjong district on Friday.

The four individuals have been identified as Yursem Keishing, 29 S/o Hormi Keishing, Themreiso Chithung, 35 S/o Kahaoshang Chithung, Shankhuime Keishing, 32 S/o Thermi Keishing and Naongam Chithung, 30 S/o late Mayarchung Chithung all from Partbung village, Kamjong district.

From the four injured, it is worth nothing that Yursem Keishing had tested positive for Covid-19 and was kept at a quarantine centre at Khamlang village under Kasom Khullen Block. He is said to have returned from Chennai.

The incident took place around 4.00 pm while they were approaching from Finch Corner along the Ukhrul road after picking the inmate (Yursem) for a home quarantine to his village. The inmate has been put for five days in isolation and discharge after tested negative for Covid-19.
