HSLC Exam, 2020 topper Nandeibam Reshmi expresses desire to become a doctor

IMPHAL: Reshmi Nandeibam of Pitambara English School has topped the High School Living Certificate (HSLC) Examination, 2020 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) scoring letter marks in all her subjects.

She is daughter of Nandeibam Rishinanda and Nandeibam (ongbi) Sanahanbi Devi of Khongman zone 5 in Imphal East district. Her father is a head constable of Border Security Force (BSF) who has recently been posted in Manipur, while her mother is a “best all rounder supportive housewife” as described by the topper herself.

Speaking to the media persons soon after the declaration of the results, Reshmi who was glowing with excitement expressed her desire to pursue her higher studies on the course to becoming a doctor in the future.

Reshmi said that she will like to pursue her higher studies in science stream with the ambition to become a professional doctor. She further encouraged the younger generations to focus their minds only on studies while living in the safe haven under their parents, teachers and social guidance in order to become a successful person with a prosperous life ahead.

Although her father who is in active service is posted outside the state most of the time, he takes concern with her day to day affairs from a far distance with daily doses of encouragement. On the other hand, Reshmi said her mother has always been by her side in every moment of her life, affectionately stating that she is blessed to have them both as her parents.

Reshmi also expressed her thankfulness with regards to all her teachers of Pitambara English School, her friends, all those well wishers, neighbours and localities, saying that without their supportive guidance and advice she wouldn’t have passed the examination with flying colours.

She also expressed her concern over the struggling education system in the state, appealing to those concerned to keep aside education sectors as a free zone atmosphere and not letting it be affected by public issues.
