THOUBAL: An individual who had completed his quarantine period at the ITI Lilong Community Quarantine Centre has tested positive on Tuesday and has been kept at COVID-19 Care Centre, RIMS.
Ironically, the said person had already been discharged from the centre before his result arrived and was under home quarantine.
He was immediately picked up from his residence on that day itself and is now admitted at Covid-19 Care Centre, RIMS.
Following the result, five individuals in contact with the individual during his home stay have been quarantined at Five Star English High School Lilong. Among them include one magic driver and the father of the quarantinee.
According to a report received from the District Administration Thoubal, the district has 31 COVID patients that tested positive till date. Out of it, 14 persons have been cured and discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state, District Administration Thoubal is planning to set up a dedicated Covid-19 care Centre at the campus of the Thoubal District Hospital separately.
In an interview with this reporter at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Thoubal District, DC N. Bandana informed that District Administration Thoubal is all for setting up a Covid-19 care centre at the complex of District Hospital Thoubal in a separate block.
The DC further told that those Covid-19 patients of Thoubal District who do not have any symptoms will be kept at the centre.
Maximum capacity of the centre will be 100, the DC added.
The DC also clarified that the to-be opened care centre won’t give any sort of impact on the normal function of the hospital. Moreover, the District Hospital had already opened a 30 bedded isolation ward also, the DC mentioned.
