Home Dept appeals Muslims to celebrate ld-Ul-Zuha at home

IMPHAL: Home Department, Government of Manipur has appealed to the followers of Islam religion to celebrate ld-Ul-Zuha by offering prayers at their homes and share the joys of the festival without coming out from their homes in view of the outbreak of Covid-19.

H Gyanprakash, Special Secretary (Home) in a statement stated that the festival of sacrifice ld-Ul-Zuha or Bakri Id is to be celebrated on 1st August 2020. However, the present situation of spread of COVlD-19 infection in the Stale is worrying and warrants reduction of intermingling of people to the barest minimum. Gathering/Congregation of people is to be avoided at all cost. The State Government has imposed lockdown and curfew and has also not allowed entry at public to any religious place. Therefore  all Muslims/ followers of Islam religion are requested to celebrate ld-Ul-Zuha by offering prayers at their homes and share the joys of the festival without coming out from their homes in view of the outbreak of Covid-19.
