IMPHAL: Former MLA Khangthuanang has declared that he will be contesting by polls from 53-Assembly Constituency Tamenglong as the NPF candidate.
The statement was made during a press conference held at his residence at Namlalong, Tamenglong HQ on Tuesday,
Addressing media persons, former MLA Khongthuanang stated that he will look out for the NPF ticket and appealed to the general public to put up suggestions and advice in order to bring positive change in the society. His prior objective is to contest in the forthcoming by-elections, but the former MLA affirmed that even if a by-election is not conducted by any chance, he will contest in the next general election.
The former MLA disclosed that he is keen to develop the village economy by enabling the villagers to receive the various government schemes. He also focused on beneficiary oriented works. And to help the education sector in the community, have a dream to build funds to help those students with talents and especially the needy ones who need financial support to pursue their dreams.
He further said that proper Inter Village Road (IVR) is needed at this hour and also shared his deep concerns for the wildlife and natural habitats in the district and added he is keen to promote Tourism. He appealed to the CSOs and media fraternity to monitor the ongoing government projects so that it reaps maximum benefits for the public.
Highlighting his background, the former MLA said that the forthcoming general election will be his 5th time to contest in MLA election. Before, he took an active part in politics; he grew up engaging himself in students and social organization. At present, he is taking the In-charge of NPF Tamenglong Unit,
