IMPHAL: BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav who arrived in Imphal on Wednesday has said that the N Biren government in the state will complete its full term and last till 2022 as the party has intensified its effort to negotiate with its ally, the NPP.
The BJP leader arrived at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, here on a two day visit today at a time when the BJP led coalition government is facing trouble after nine MLAs withdrew support to the Government. Chief Minister N Biren and leaders of BJP Manipur Preadesh warmly received the leader of the saffron party.
Although the BJP claimed that he had come to the state to facilitate the newly elected RS MP titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba, sources said that the leader had flown to the state to resolve the present political crisis in the state.
Ram Madhav told reporters who were waiting for the leader at the airport that since the inception of the BJP led coalition in the state, people have been raising question about the stability of the BJP government. It has been seen that the Government has always been stable and winning elections.
“Take it from me. We will be stable till 2022”, Madhav said.
Later, Ram Madhav warmly felicitated titular Manipuri king Leishemba Sanajaoba, newly elected RS MP at Chief Minister Bungalow at about 4 PM on Wednesday. Chief Minister N Biren, BJP president Prof S Tikendra, LS MP Dr RK Ranjan, MP Lorho Pfoze, ministers and MLAs also attended the felicitation programme.
