IMPHAL: Kanonbala Yumnam of SDJM Higher Secondary School stood 2nd position with 442 marks in the Commerce stream of the Class 12th examination of Higher Secondary Examination 2020 that was conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (COHSEM).
During a press meet at her residence she expressed her desire to become a Chartered Accountant in future. She is the second daughter of Yumnam Surkumar and Y (o) Akashini Devi of Langthabal Mantrikhong Makha Leikai.
Kanonbala stated that she pursued her high school education at Paradise Academy, Chanchipur. During her preparations for the examination she had never gone for extra tuitions or coaching classes for any subject. Instead she approached the principal of SDJM Higher Secondary School to help her out regarding any doubt in the preparations for the examination, she added.
She further stated her desire is to continue pursuing her bachelor degree course at DM College of Commerce with a dream to become a chartered accountant. She conveyed her interest to help in making changes in all round development of the society, and as a student to work hard with determination.
She said that it depends on few changes of oneself to help achieve the dream when asked why she has not chosen to pursue her bachelor degree in institutions outside the state. The education system in the state has begun to improve and her decision to continue studying at DM College meets the expectation, she apprised the journalists.
Kanonbala is the 2nd daughter among four siblings. Her father is the head constable of Manipur Police Department and at present posted at Noney. Her mother is a housewife who dedicates all her energy in running the household activities and helping them in time-management for their studies. She conveyed her utmost gratitude to her parents, principal and teachers of SDJM Higher Secondary School, and also all her well-wishers, etc.
