CHURACHANDPUR: The Director, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Manipur visited Churachandpur College on Saturday and had an interaction with the staff.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Common Room, the director stated that she was quite impressed to see how things are being organised properly inside the college campus and praised the incumbent principal for doing such a marvellous job.
Asserting that her purpose of the visit was appraising the colleges under the Higher and Technical Education Department about the importance of having NAAC Accreditation for the smooth functioning and survival of the institution, she said that if an institution is not having NAAC Accreditation, that particular institution would not be entitled for receiving any fund from funding agencies like UGC etc. So, to achieve these things the principal/coordinator of IQAC/ IT Nodal Officer alone will not be able to do all the work. Its achievement will be possible only through collective efforts, she said and encouraged the young assistant professors to have the willingness to go the extra mile for making the accomplishment.
The director also stressed on the importance of having sound knowledge of technology. She said at least to some extent a college teacher must keep himself/herself up to date on some latest technologies. Because a teacher is expected to know what kind of development is taking place in and around.
Apart from discussing many issues, the director asked Pauchungnung Vaiphei, Coordinator, IQAC and Dr Henry Pangamte, IT Nodal Officer personally to approach their mentors and sort things out so that the institution could have NAAC accreditation as early as possible.
Amid their interaction, the Academic Council submitted an application to the Director asking for her favour and support for the introduction of a new under-graduate programme in the college.
