KANGPOKPI: Many people assumed Government schools in the hills especially under Autonomous District Council are not doing well and also not functioning properly but the HSLC examination results of 2020 had clearly demonstrated that they are no less than others Government and private run educational institutions.
This was expressed by most of the ADC Sadar Hills councillors attending the felicitation of Satmunchon Kipgen, who secured 11 ranks in the recently declared HSLC examination, 2020 at Multipurpose Hall of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi.
The felicitation ceremony of Satmunchon Kipgen organized by the Education Department, District Council Administration, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi was attended by Thangjakam Misao, Vice Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills, Executive Members and other Councillors, Chief Executive Officer, Addl.CEO, Inspector of Schools, officials and staffs of education department, officials and staffs of SH-ADC Kpi, etc. apart from the rank holder parents.
Satmunchon Kipgen was felicitated along with his mother and father and cash reward of Rs. 40,000/- was awarded by the Education Department of SH-ADC Kangpokpi while James Doujapao Haokip, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, SH-ADC Kpi felicitated Satmunchon Kipgen parents with a traditional shawl, Saipikhup, through Damma Vaiphei and Lamkholen Kipgen, both executive members of ADC Sadar Hills on the occasion.
Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Teachers’ Association also felicitated the 11th position holder of HSLC Examination, 2020 with a memento and traditional muffler through its president Letkhohao Lhouvum.
ADC Sadar Hills Vice Chairman, Thangjakam Misao on behalf of Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman ADC Sadar Hills appreciated and encouraged Satmunchon Kipgen on the occasion after Chinnu Kipgen, Inspector of Schools, SH-ADC Kpi expressed the joyousness and contentment of the education department of SH-ADC Kangpokpi upon Satmunchon Kipgen on his achievement.
She also said that the achievement of Satmunchon Kipgen speaks in high volume about the hard struggle and contribution of Government schools in the hills especially under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council towards education sector.
Satmunchon Kipgen studied till Class V at Gamnomphai UJB School under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi and later pursued his high school education at EMRS Gamnom Saparmeina funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and managed and run by Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Government of Manipur and become the first rank holder from Government school in the district.
Letkhohao Lhouvum, President, SHADCTA said that the foundation of Satmunchon Kipgen’s education begun at Gamnomphai UJB School under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council school and the his basic education was provided by school under the Headmaster of Jangam Chongloi while appreciating the officials of SH-ADC Kpi Education Department especially the school Headmaster and his staffs in providing excellent basic education to the students.
“I have never heard the product of District Council Schools securing rank in the HSLC examination before Satmunchon Kipgen achievement”, said Damma Vaiphei, Executive Member of ADC Sadar Hills while lauding the hard struggles of the pupil and thanked the education department of SH-ADC Kangpokpi in providing good basic education in their respective schools.
He also said that we are very fortunate as the present Government is giving priority to the education sector and appeal the education department of SH-ADC especially teachers under SH-ADC to put their best efforts while exhorting parents and guardian to render maximum cooperation and support towards the Government schools.
ADC Sadar Hills Councilor, Thangkam Lupheng, who is also the spokesperson of the ADC Sadar Hills said that the success and achievement of Satmunchon Kipgen in the recently declared HSLC examination 2020 has clearly demonstrated that schools under Autonomous District Council in the hill districts especially in Sadar Hills Kangpokpi are no less than others.
“I could proudly said that schools under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi are capable of producing good students through proper basic education to excel even in the toughest competition”, said the ADC Sadar Hills Spokesperson while exhorting Satmunchon Kipgen to let his success the beginning and maintained his momentum to excel in his future endeavors.
James Doujapao Haokip, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, SH-ADC Kangpokpi, Thangjalal Touthang, DIS and others apart from Satmunchon Kipgen also spoke on the occasion while the felicitation ceremony was culminated with a blessing prayer from Th. Lhingkhonei Lotzem, Addl.CEO, SH-ADC Kangpokpi.
