Thoubal: A one day discussion on the issue of mass usage of different kinds of intoxicants including illegal contraband drugs by the youths of Khangabok at present day was held at Khangabok part ( ii) Community Hall, Thoubal District on Thursday.
The discussion which was organised by “All Clubs Coordinating Committee” (ACOC) Khangabok, an umbrella organisation of all the 21 clubs of Khangabok, reviewed the present day activities of the youths of Khangabok village minutely.
All the speakers expressed shock when they learnt that most of the youths of Khangabok have been consuming intoxicants of one type or other including illegal contraband drugs.
The discussion then took some key resolutions unanimously.
It was resolved that ACOC will take the issue as serious and will begin mass drive against all the liquor sellers, both IMFL and DIC of Khangabok village, at the earliest. It was also resolved that the ACOC have to take major role in safeguarding the integrity of Khangabok village.
It was also resolved that the ACOC will go hand in hand while trying to reach all the benefits of government schemes like PDS and MGNAREGA to the targeted beneficiaries of the village.
The discussion was attended by Khangabok Jilla Parishad member Khundrakpam Rajmohon, Khangabok Part (III) GP pradhan nominee M.Manglemjao, ACO president N. Doren, TDC president Laishram Amumacha and JCCWB convenor Romesh Ningthoujam as presidium members.
