DESAM urges MU, DMU and state govt to increase number of intake seats

IMPHAL: The Democratic Students Alliance Manipur (DESAM) urged to the concern authority of DMU, MU and state government to increase the rate of intake seat in double whereas it ensured to pass a selective ordinance and implementation for looking after the time, space, manpower and infrastructural management in both University amidst this pandemic.

While briefing the media person during its press meets the general secretary Leishangthem Lamyanba said that the University should also allow and immediately give an approval on covid special cases for the students of any different colleges those who have approached to apply post graduate (PG) in the University.   

Moreover, DESAM have been come across that some educational institution have been conducted the admission process which were unacceptably during this pandemic, adding as an example that the DIET admission process SCERT were been completed before giving its notification of the selection list while serving notification for no entrance test for the M.ed students of DMCTE were totally against the norms of NCTE which will never be accepted, he added.

Regarding this matter the concerned state department was drawn attention for the necessary consideration also urges to give special preference and Mark weightage for the commerce stream students who have been chosen the stream specifically during class 11 and 12 standard without assuming on the total marks basis of science and arts during the admission, he added.     

It also mentioned that the notification of the consolidated list should be notified within November 2 also ensured to proceed the admission process with transparency while DESAM added that the suspicion on the DMU admission process (error) seems to be louder as its department refused to serve the notification of the consolidated list of an admission.

While, DESAM strongly appealed to the concerned department authority to forbid the habits of simply increasing the rate of admission fee which had been going on since from before also urged not to hike the admission fees during this pandemic, he added.

Further,  as per October 6 2020 administrator circular, that any research scholar and coaching teachers should not attend or participate in any examination affairs in connection with MU entrance examination while it urges to strictly follow the decision of the administrator.

However, DESAM has got an information that the some coaching teachers has performed its duty as an invigilator of the examination whereas it was informed that electronics devices and mobile phone were also been used during its entrance examination, hence, DESAM ensured the concern authority to take up necessary activities for implementing the examination with rule and regulation in future .
