Imphal: Flying squads of combined team of DESAM and AIMS inspected 17 examination centers of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2020 conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) which began on Monday.
During the inspection, the combined team found students using unfair means at the most at the centers located along Mayai Lambi line.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference held at DESAM Office at Kwakeithel General Secretary of DESAM Leishangthem Lamyanba said that the flying squad of the combined team of DESAM and AIMS found students using unfair means by means of photocopies, notes containing answers, copying from each others, replacing students and even mobile phones.
He said at Wangoi Higher Secondary School, students were found using unfair means by means of copying from pre-prepared notes containing answers and others supplied by outside runners.
At Tomchou Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal, photocopies answer sheets were found from a student which were supposed to be distributed during the examination and handwritten notes containing answers.
At Yumnam Huidrom High School students were found using unfair means and notes containing answers.
At Samurou High School the examination was found to be conducted smoothly, however, a few cases of cheating were discovered.
At Kumari High School, Hiyanthang, a person identified as MD Nawaj Khan (Roll No. 40947), was found using mobile phones and impersonation. Immediately DESAM and AIMS team took actions with the officials to expel him from sitting in the examination.
At Pishakmacha Bidya Mandir, three persons were found appearing the examination in place of other students and they were subsequently expelled from the examinations.
Md. Amal Khan (Roll no. 38541) of EHSAS Standard English School, Mayang Imphal was found replaced by one Md Arif Irmail Khan; Thanjapao Baite (Roll No. 38455) of Khelakhong Khongjil High Madrassa School was found replaced by one Kamboi and MD Nahid Khan (Roll No. 48416) of the same school was found replaced by one Awes Khan, he added.
Lamyanba said that mass copying was observed at Uchiwa High School, even the invigilators were found assisting the candidates during the examination and notes containing answers were also seized.
At Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Nilapadma, Temple of Learning, Keishamthong High School, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, TG Higher Secondary School the examination were conducted smoothly, he added.
Appreciating the OC, AOC, invigilators for their co-operation during the inspection of the examination, Lamyanba further said that as its obligation to extending support to BOSEM
