DDAM, SPDPO continue to distribute relief materials

Imphal: As part of the continuous helping hands to the differently-abled persons of the state who are facing hard time due to Covid-19 lockdown, members of The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) under the aegis of State Platform of Disabled People’s Organisations (SPDPO) Manipur distributed relief materials and essential commodities to the differently-abled persons of Sora under Kakching District.

Speaking in connection with the helping hand, President SPDPO Manipur Md. Yunus khan said that till date no authority concern or concern departments has done any awareness at Sora especially for differently abled persons, and no differently persons had disable certificate and even they do, majority of them were not aware how to obtain the benefits from various disability schemes launched by the State Government.

“Go To Village program has been held, but none has received any benefits from the program, Parents of deprived children decried”, said Yunus.

Yunus also said that those places they have visited is the places that lacks proper awareness and places which are mostly neglected by the elected members, Pradhans and Councillors, where differently abled persons reside.

Yunus further urged the elected members, Pradhans and Councillors to act as a good Samaritan for the people, even if for once rather than acting for the namesake during elections to woo votes.
