IMPHAL: The Communist Party of India has held a virtual meeting and discussed the constitutional and political crisis in Rajasthan on Sunday.
In a press release issued by CPI General Secretary, the party mentioned that the National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India takes serious note of the delay tactics of the Rajasthan governor in convening the state assembly for a floor test as recommended by the state cabinet. The delay tactics smacks of a partisan stand of the governor, who is a nominee of the BJP which is ruling at the centre and has its own sectarian political interest in creating hurdles for the state government to function, added the press release.
CPI criticised such partisan attitude of the governor which goes against the principle of democracy and impacts the functioning of the elected government. Therefore, urged upon the governor to convene the assembly as per the cabinet recommendation and allow the ruling party to go in for a floor test.
