TMB Report

IMPHAL: CPI Manipur State Council has demanded the government to provide relaxation in curfew and lockdown for farmers to help them carry out necessary activities.

In a press note issued by assistant secretary Joykumar Luwang, it was mentioned that in such hours of despair, farmers are the only hope for the people as they are literally feeding us and ensuring our survival. The government should allow relaxation in movement for the farmers for activities relating to the production of growing rice and vegetables such as transportation of produce goods, purchasing and selling of fertilizers and marketing of produces to reach the hands of the people in the state, it stated.

Very saddening reports from people rearing poultry animals, duck, pig, etc about their business running losses due to continued lockdown from different parts of the state are coming and their cries for help should be heard by government, it demanded while suggesting that grocery shops and home delivery services also merit relaxation from the purview of curfew and lockdown as they are the source of providing finished essential items to the people.
