COVID task force gives advance Christmas gifts

IMPHAL: A team of Covid-19 Task Force from 10-Tuivai District Council constituency led by its convenor and former chairman of ADCC Langkhanpau Guite handed over 454 kgs of sugar as an advance Christmas gift to 21 churches located under constituency on Tuesday in continuation of the task force’s Covid-19 relief efforts.

The occasion was attended by SDO Mualnuam Lalthanzam, who is the co-member secretary of the tasks force and village chiefs of 16 villages where the items were distributed.

The SDO applauded the Covid-19 task force for their numerous efforts for the welfare of the public. He talked to the people on the importance of AADHAR card enrolment reminding that the card is a must in order to receive government’s assistance.

Robert Hmar who is the PA to SDO Mualnam said that they had a hard time during AADHAR enrollment as  many of the applicants are sceptical on owning the cards due to their belief they will be receiving satanic numbers. Hmar consoled them not to have such apprehension and offered his personal service.

Chiefs of villagers who are members of the Covid-19 task force applauded the efforts of the former chairperson of ADCC stating that no other members had done what he did and that his interest in the 10-Tuivai District Council constituency was appreciated by them.

In his speech Guite said that he was happy that the recent test confirmed Covid-19 virus is not present at Thuangtam. He mentioned that they had distributed many items like food, face mask, hand sanitizer etc and continuously organised awareness on Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. He informed that more than 10 sign boards have been erected in different local dialects belonging to the tribes that inhabit the 10-Tuivai District Council constituency.

Many small rallies are organised in many places of Manipur in support of Bharat Bandh on December 8 , 2020.
