IMPHAL: Peoples’ Task force have found out that following SOP guidelines seems precluded in areas of Paona and Thangal Bazar while during a visit to spread mass awareness of Covid-19.
In a press release issued by Publicity and Propaganda in charge M. Angamba Meitei, the task force stated that the constantly issuance of SOP guidelines without proper authoritative implementation can never persuade the process to restraint Covid-19. Instead, the government should thoroughly discussed the ground reality regarding norms and guidelines prevailed in which people’s cooperation is very much needed to tackle in curbing of Covid-19 affecting situations, added the press release.
The unprepared application of Unlock-4 guidelines by the central government for the state of Manipur that included relaxation of curfew imposed, movement of people, opening of institutions from 21st September without analysing the ground reality of the situations would fall into chronic conditions of Covid-19. Thus, resulting in wide increase of community transmission that eventually rises in pressuring health department in terms of capacity and scarcity to handle the situation, the task force stated.
Peoples’ Task force along with Indian Red cross society, Indian Medical Association for health care provider of India have been conducting mass awareness in various parts of the state through community, and latest at Paona and Thangal Bazar. And, such awareness program will continue to organise and conduct at within major markets in the state.
The press release mentioned that awareness program have been conducted at Uripok Khoira Selungbam Leikai, United Club And Library, RIMS Road, Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai Community Hall, Children Radio Listening Club, Lainingthou Sorarel Community Hall along Lairenjam Covid-19 Task Force(Lairenjam Sorarel Seba Committee,Y.S.M.C,N.I.S.C,S.C.O,L.S.U.Y.C).
In continuation, Peoples’ Task Force for Covid-19 and IRCS Manipur State Branch will be conducting awareness program on covid-19 at various locality and community areas of the state, added the press release.
