COVID-19 recovery rate rises to 50.33%; 667 discharged out of 1325 cases

IMPHAL: Even as there is no respite in the increase of COVID-19 positive cases in the state with nine more fresh individuals testing positive to take the total count of cases to 1325 on Saturday, the state has also witnessed a spurt in the number of recovered cases, recording a recovery rate of 50.33 percent.

According to a statement issued by Additional Director Health Department and COVID-19 Common Control Room Spokesperson Dr Khoirom Shasheekumar Mangang in late evening, 9 persons were found positive for the Virus when 871 samples were tested at JNIMS lab.

Of the 9 cases, one case belong to Bishnupur, two Imphal east and 6 to Senapati. The Health department, however, did not reveal the travel history and address of the individuals. All the patients have been shifted to COVID care centres. Health authority is taking up all necessary preventive and control measures like containment and contact tracing, added the statement.

28 persons were discharged from the Hospitals on Saturday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test. 16 patients were discharged from Covid Care centre, Meitram, 8 from CCC Senapati, 4 from Thoubal District Hospital isolation ward.

With this, State’s total active COVID-19 cases stands at 658. Till date, altogether 667 patients have been recovered and discharged, recording a recovery rate of 50.33 percent.

All the 658 active COVID-cases are currently undergoing treatment at RIMS COVID care centre, RIMS, JNIMS, District Hospital Bishnupur, UNACCO school, Meitram, TK Woodland Resort, Tamenglong higher Secondary school, CCC/IO Ward Churachandpur, CCC, Senapati, District Hospital Ukhrul, District Hospital Thoubal, IGTU Makhan, CCC Kakching, and District QCs respectively.
