IMPHAL: After a downward trend in recovery rate, the state saw a slight improvement in COVID-19 recovery rate again by 80.90 percent with as many as 16,092 parsons were discharged against the cumulative number of 19,891 confirmed positive cases while the active positive cases stood at 3,608.
In the span of 24 hours, two more persons succumbed to COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 191.
The latest COVID-19 victims are male residents from Imphal west aged 47 and 85 respectively. They expired at RIMS, Health department said.
Friday’s bulletin of COVID common control room reported 166 new positive cases taking the tally of COVID-19 positive cases to 19,891. The new cases comprises of 159 cases from general population and seven from Central Armed Police Force personnel.
The 159 positive cases from among the civilians are locally transmitted without any significant travel history.
The fresh positive cases were detected at RIMS-13, JNIMS-21, Imphal west-33, Imphal east-1, Shija Hospital-24, Maipakpi Hospital-4, ACME-2, CMC-2, Iboyaima Hospital-2, Raj Medicity-3, Sielmat-1, Advance Hospital-2, Jivan Hospital-1, Escent Diagnostics-7, Thoubal-1, Bishnupur-3, Kakching-3, Churachandpur-9, Tengnoupal-2, Noney-2, Ukhrul-3, Senapati-1 and Babina Diagnostics-26.
All the infected patients are being shifted to Covid Care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the release.
The positive cases from among the civilians include 77 from Imphal West district, 45 from Imphal East, six each from Thoubal and Bishnupur, five from Kakching, two from Senapati, three from Kakching and nine from Churachandpur.
The release further stated that as many as 342 persons were discharged from various COVID care Hospitals. They were discharged from CAPF- 18, Home isolation-222, RIMS-9, JNIMS-11, CCC LKK-14, CCC UNACCO-26, RD Wing-5, Bal Bavan-7, Bishnupur-2, Tamenglomg-3, Jiribam-3, Moreh-4, Noney-3, Thoubal-11 and CCC Lamding-4.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 19,891 comprising of general population-17,080, CAPF-2811). Altogether 16,092 (general polulation-13,586, CAPF-2506) have recovered.
The statement further appealed to the individuals, who were in contact with any positive person, to isolate immediately and contact COVID control room or CMO concerned for testing.
