20 to 25 percent of people who have completed COVID-19 treatment or quarantine may suffer from social stigma. Such people are no longer source of COVID-19 transmission to others. They should not be stigmatized. Isolation and loneliness during quarantine can assert long lasting negative consequences on physical and mental well being. Feeling isolated can lead to poor sleep, poor cardiovascular health, lower immunity, impaired executive functions and depressive symptoms. Psychological help and counseling can be accessed through toll free 24×7 helpline number 1180003453818, said the Health department in a release.
All the 730 active COVID-19 cases are currently undergoing treatment at RIMS COVID care centre, RIMS, JNIMS, District Hospital Bishnupur, UNACCO school, Meitram, TK Woodland Resort, Tamenglong higher Secondary school, CCC/IO Ward Churachandpur, CCC, Senapati and District QCs respectively.
