IMPHAL: COVID-19 death toll continued in the state unabated with two more patients succumbing to the viral infection in the last 24 span of hours.
The latest COVID-19 victims are male patients of 47 years and 53 from Imphal east and Imphal west respectively. Both expired at JNIMS.
With this state’s COVID-19 related death toll rose to 93 on Monday.
Meanwhile, state’s tally of COVID-19 rose to 13,556 with 230 fresh cases detected positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, 216 from among the general population are locally transmitted with no significant history of travelling outside the state, informed state Health Department.
Sunday’s bulletin of Covid Common Control Room reported altogether 230 fresh positive cases including 223 individuals from among general population and seven personnel from Central Armed Police Personnel.
The fresh positive cases were detected at JNIMS-110, RIMS-22, Jiribam-1, Bishnupur-2, Pherzawl-3, Ukhrul-1, Noney-3, Maipakpi Hospital-13, Imphal East-24, Raj Medicity-7, Jivan Hospital-2, Babina Diagnostic-2, Shija Hospital-15, CMC-1, Hillside Hospital-1 and Tamenglong-5.
The positive cases from among the civilians include 36 from Imphal West district, 132 from Imphal East,
One each from Chandel, Kangpokpi and Jiribam, three each from Bishnupur and Noney, seven from Thoubal, four from Churachandpur, two from Ukhrul and six from Tamenglong. All the infected patients are being shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the Health Department.
In the span of 24 hours, 203 persons were discharged, thus reviving the recovery rate again by 78.98 percent.
They were discharged from CAPF- 12, Home isolation-11, JNIMS-3, RIMS-16, CCC UNACCO-29, CCC Lamding-48, Kangpokpi-2, Sadbhavna-8, Lanva-6, Noney-4, CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong-78, PR Kakching-4, Tamenglong-8 and Senapati-2 after they were found Covid free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 10,797 while the active cases at 2756 which includes 2406 civilians and 350 security personnel.
