IMPHAL: State’s total count of COVID-19 related death cases spiked to 67 with two men of 41 years and 58 years from Thoubal and Imphal West respectively succumbed to COVID-19 at Shija Hospital.
In the meantime, in the last 24 hours, 237 fresh cases were detected positive for COVID-19, taking the total count of COVID-19 positive cases to 10,983.
According to a daily bulletin updated by Dr Shasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director Health Department and Spokesperson Covid Common Control Room, the 237 fresh positive cases including 206 civilians and 31 personnel belonging to CAPF were detected at RIMS-22, JNIMS-64, Senapati-2, Raj Medicity-4, Thoubal-13, Noney-21, Shija Hospital-7, Maipakpi Hospital-2, Tengnoupal-19, Churachandpur-5, Imphal west-24, Imphal East-4, Bishnupur-1, Mother care-1, RD Wing-6, Tamenglong-12, Jivan Hospital-1, Chandel-10, Babina Diagnostic-1, Peace Hospital-2 and Jiribam-11.
The 237 civilians who tested positive belong to Imphal West -60, Imphal east-61, Bishnupur-4, Senapati-4, Churachandpur-5, Tengnoupal-3, Noney-23, Thoubal-18, Tamenglong-12, Chandel-10, Jiribam-5.
Of the 206 civilians who tested positive, 199 are locally transmitted with no travel history. All the infected patients will be shifted to COVID care facilities and necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement of CCR.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, altogether 421 persons were discharged , thus recovery rate pegging at 77.01 percent on Wednesday.
They were discharged from CAPF-10, RIMS-6, RD Wing-3, CCC Lamding-16, CCC UNACCO-18, CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong -67, Tamenglong-22, Moreh-2, TK Ukhrul-3, Kangpokpi-4 and PR Kakching-9 after they were found Covid free on RT PCR test.
Altogether, 8460 patients have recovered and the active Covid-19 cases stands at 2456, out of which 1915 are civilians and 541 security personnel.
