TMB Report

IMPHAL: As a continuing protest of relay hunger strike demanding ‘Rectification of ROP 2019’ which began on 29th February by Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA), a protest was held at the premise of ZEO/Zone-2 office on Monday.

Convenor and publicity Secretary S. Gunamani stated that government is a continuing process and it is a bitter decision of the present government to change the pay structure of 6th pay commission which was granted by a cabinet decision of the previous government into the pay structure of 5th commission for ROP 2019 of the 7th pay commission to all Primary and Graduate Lecture under department of Education(S).

He further stated that even though the Central government pay commission remunerated mainly in prior to health and education, it is the most disheartening decision for the entire primary and graduate lecturer’s community that the present government has neglected them in recognizing their vital role as part of the spine structure of the society and for the government ruling the state.

And for that reason the relay hunger strike has been continuing against the regulation and will continue their protest with fast unto death for the better future of education system, until and unless the government realized itself to their peak of concern of all the teachers who are fuelling the system of education. Stating that it is the first unconstructive step for the present government’s newly scheme like ‘’School Fagathansi” mission that aims to improve the education system in the state, he concluded.
