KANGPOKPI: ASHA worker Hevei Haokip of Kangpokpi District Headquarters, who returned home after tested negative and completion of 28 days surveillance, was greeted with hero’s welcome by the local CSOs and the medical department on Sunday.
The 60 year old ASHA worker from Ward No.5 in Kangpokpi DHQs is a frontline worker among many others who had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 1 after her sample was collected earlier along with other ASHA workers. She was evacuated at Lamboikhongnangkhong Covid Care Centre at Imphal where the Corona Warrior defeated the dreaded virus.
On August 17 afternoon she was discharged from the Covid Care Centre after spending 17 days and she voluntarily opted to undergo the remaining days to complete 28 days surveillance at Kanggui Christian College Community Quarantine Centre with consultation with the Medical Superintendent i/c of District Hospital Kangpokpi.
She was discharged from the Community Quarantine Centre yesterday. Upon arrival at home from CQC, the Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization leaders representing the women of Kangpokpi, the Kangpokpi Youth Union representing the youths of the town and the medical department greeted her with hero’s welcome at her residential gate with claps and cheers.
As a gesture of respect and with an aim to give morale booster, Dr. Paotinlal Haokip, MS i/c District Hospital Kangpokpi offered a bouquet of flower on behalf of the ASHA workers and medical department, Hekim Hangshing, President of KWWO on behalf of the Kangpokpi mothers present her a bouquet of flower followed by Haolet Khongsai, President KYU on behalf of the youths of the town.
ASP Kangpokpi, Lalminlen Misao, MPS and senior journalist Kaybie Chongloi also joined the welcome ceremony and offered a bouquet of flower to the Corona Warrior for her courage and heroism in defeating the dreaded virus.
Earlier, Kangpokpi Town Committee members led by its Chairman Lunseh Kipgen also visited the Corona Warrior and offered praised and appreciation for her courage while offering prayer for her health and future endeavours.
ASHA worker Hevei Haokip made the entire medical community of Kangpokpi proud and the members of her society and CSOs leaders deserves praise for acknowledging her efforts said Dr. Paotinlal Haokip before adding that together we will win the battle against the pandemic.
“Don’t take Corona easy considering the impressive recovery rate unless you take it seriously and follow the prescribe norms and guidelines it will always be deadly”, said Corona Warrior Hevei Haokip while expressing her indescribable joy and cheerfulness upon the CSOs leaders and her department in offering a hero’s welcome and also to all who help her in her fight against the deadly virus through prayer, mental support and in kind.
The COVID warrior exhorted the people to spread love and kindness at the maximum to any positive patients as it serves as the greatest motivation while adding that discriminating those infected with the virus play as a devastating factor to demoralize the will and determination to combat the dreaded virus.
