Imphal: Convenor of Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) M. Tombi on Friday said that the alliance welcomes the coming conclusion of over 24-year old Peace Talk between NSCN-IM and Government of India and also welcomes the centre’s invite to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and opposition leader Okram Ibobi Singh to hold talks on the conclusion of peace talk between Govt. of India and NSCN-IM.
However, the conclusion of the Peace Talk should not affect the integrity of Manipur at any cost, Tombi said warning that should it happen, MDA will not compromised.
M. Tombi made the statement during a press meet held at the office of Shiv Sena at Babupara on Friday.
M. Tombi further urged the union Home Minister to assure a guarantee to consult the CSOs and other stakeholders before arriving at the conclusion to the peace talk of the NSCN-IM and GoI and putting it into action.
M. Tombi called for all political party meetings at the earliest, since the Supreme Court has provided 14 days to submit opinions regarding the delimitation.
He said, a memorandum will also be submitted to the Supreme Court through the State Government to decline the 2001 delimitation which is based on wrong, baseless information and record and extend till 2026.
M. Tombi also said that a memorandum will also be submitted to the Governor of Manipur, Prime Minister and Home Minister for the restoration of schedule tribe and to implement MLR-LR act, 1960 in-order to implement one act in both hills and valley so as to bring peace and harmony among the communities.
