IMPHAL: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the State Government’s ambitious School Fagathansi Mission at the Moirangpurel High School, Andro Assembly Constituency, Imphal East district in the presence of Forest and Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar and Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam. The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed school buildings equipped with latest infrastructures at a function organised by the State Education (S) Department.
Addressing the gathering, CM N. Biren Singh said that the School Fagathansi Mission is an initiative to upgrade the condition of Government schools for overall development in shaping the future pillars of the society. He said that the mission is implemented in one school each in all the 60 assembly constituencies of the State and the mission will be launched today at five schools namely Moirangpurel High School, Heingang High School, Singjamei Chingamakha High School, Praja High School, Lamsang and SK Ideal High School, Ngairangbam.
CM further said that it is the responsibility of the Government to provide good schools with highly qualified teachers along with adequate infrastructure and facilities to its citizens. He thanked the general public, the Education Department, all the concerned officers and local leaders of the 60 assembly constituencies for their support and dedication for the successful implementation of the School Fagathansi Mission. He said pre-nursery facility is also given under the mission which was unavailable earlier in Government schools.
Stating that strong foundation given in the education sector will help in shaping of student’s life, he opined that these students can further help deprived students and become a good citizen of the State, thus improving overall society. He said that all sections of the society have high respect and regard for the teachers. Appealing to the teachers to be sincere in imparting knowledge to the students, he said that the teachers should go to the place where they are transferred/posted and not indulge frequently in changing their place of transfer/posting.
He further lauded the Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam and his team for swiftly and successfully implementing the mission. He also lauded the Forest and Environment Minister, who is also the local MLA of Andro AC for his sincere dedication towards reviving the Government schools in his constituency. Terming both the Ministers as dynamic, he hoped that the sincerity and dedication by the leaders and support of the public will surely lead to the progress of the State.
Speaking regarding the request for repairing/black topping of the roads in Moirangpurel area, CM N. Biren Singh said that the Government have started repairing/black topping of the roads in various locations with limited resource. He said the Government will surely look into the matter regarding the possibility of their demand.
Th. Shyamkumar said the long cherished dream of the people of the locality have been cherished today with the inauguration of the School Fagathansi Mission at the Moirangpurel High School which will provide latest teaching techniques to the young students. He said the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister has paved a way for the revival of the Government schools of the State. He further said that improvement in the law and order situation in the State has further helped in the free passage of the school teachers and staffs. He also said that the Government led by the Chief Minister is dedicated towards improvement in every sector that is why various schemes have been launched for the people. He concluded his speech by thanking the Chief Minister and Education Department for launching the School Fagathansi Mission first from the Moirangpurel High School.
Radheshyam said that under the mission, teachers and all latest required infrastructures are being provided to the students. He also lauded Th. Shyamkumar for his dedication towards education sector. Stating that the Moirangpurel High School was upgraded from aided primary school to high school in 2011, he said that the school has seen a rapid growth in the last 8 years. He credited the Minister Shyamkumar for his sincere dedication.
He also credited Chief Minister for supporting the entire team of Education Department which allowed for rapid action in the education sector. He said that a grievance cell will be opened for the mission where people can send their suggestions and grievances. As part of the function two students were distributed school uniforms for free.
Secretary to the Chief Minister Ningthoujam Geoffery, Education (S) Commissioner T. Ranjit Singh, Education Director Th. Kirankumar, officials of the Education (S), top civil and police officials also attended the function. (DIPR)
