Claims of Forest Right Act extended till Oct 31

Imphal: Deputy Commissioner Imphal East has extended the date for submission of claims of Forest Right Act till 4 pm of October 31 this year.  

A public notice issued by DC Imphal East Khumanthem Diana Devi on Tuesday informed remaining Scheduled Tribes or Traditional Forest Dwellers of Imphal East District to submit the claims of Forest Rights individually or in groups or in community in Form A (for individual rights) and Form B (for community rights) of Annexure I of the Schedule Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Rules, 2007 along with supporting documents as specified in the Act by 4 pm of October 31.

The District Administration hard earlier issued a Public Notice on June 3, 2022 issued asking to submit the claims of Forest Rights individually or in groups or in Community in Form A (for individual rights) and Form B (for community rights) of Annexure I of the Schedule Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Rules, 2007 along with supporting documents as specified in the Act.

Following receipt of various letters requesting for extension of the date for submission of claims of Forest Right Act, a review meeting of the progress of the Joint Survey in Reserve Forests and Protected Forests under the chairmanship of Addl. Chief Secretary (Forest & Environment), Government of Manipur held on October 10, 2022 at the Conference Hall, Forest Head Office, Sanjenthong decided that DCs serve FRA Notices latest by October 20, 2022.  

It said that forms can be downloaded from https://imphaleast.nic.in or will be available at the office of the SDO/ SDC/ nearest Common Service Centres and with Pradhan of the GP concerned. No further application shall be accepted in any case, it conveyed.

It further cautioned that disciplinary action will be immediately taken up against the concerned officer/official if, during the verification of the documents, any foul play by manipulation of the land records or official document is found.
