Chassad Bn distributes COVID-19 aid to border area villages

IMPHAL: As part of its continued efforts to provide help to people of far flung border areas in their trying times Chassad Batallion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), provided essential relief material to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items were provided with the primary aim of helping the vill authorities establish a Quarantine Facility in Ramphuie village for those who are returning from outside the state through special trains. The items included ration essentials rice, milk, tea, coffee, sugar along with 120 Nos of masks & gloves.

The villagers were also made aware about the recent directions from government regarding self dependence and use of indigenous items in establishing Quarantine Centres in the village for the stranded people returning from outside the state to their native villages, IGAR(S) said in a press release.

The villagers deeply appreciated the sustained efforts of the Chassad Battalion of Assam Rifles in maintaining security and peace in the area. The event stimulated awareness in the minds of all present in the village and all members assured their full support and assistance to the Assam Rifles in the fight against COVID-19.
