Ccpur: The Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur called a special meeting on Covid-19 at DTC Hall, Tuibong on Tuesday. It was attended by Minister in charge of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts Vungzagin Valte and others top level officials of the district like the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, chief medical officers and chief executive officers of ADCC, SDOs of all sub division, police, medical staff, members of NGOs and CSOs, and church leaders in the districts.
The program which started in the afternoon was called to deliberate on the ways to face the Covid-19 pandemic which has kept deteriorating in the district with each passing day, the minister said. The participants were urged to suggest a road map and list the requirement in combating the disease, so that he can forward the same to it the chief minister who is concerned with the situation of the outbreak in the district.
The Minister on the occasion said that he was happy with the step taken so far by the District Administration and Medical Department while entreating them for more effort to fight this pandemic. He asked the participant to at least make a compilation of the minimum requirements so that further necessary action can be initiated. He promised to table the needful to the chief minister.
Mention may be made that Churachandpur district recorded three more death due to COVID-19 bringing the total death to 16 while discovering 11 news positive cases today. Ten cases were from local transmission and one is a returnee, bringing the total positive case in the district to 1381. There are 262 active cases at present which is alarming as Churachandpur is among the districts with high active cases.
