Mob tries to set ablaze a suspect’s house, plan foiled
Ccpur: An angry mob on Tuesday morning around 7:30 tried to set ablaze the house of K Somen Singh, son of K Achouba Singh at Khuga Tampak, Zoveng, Churachandpur, one of the prime accused in the killing of Arambam Ranjan and the Rs 1.15 crore robbery.
However, the attempt was foiled due to the timely intervention of volunteers of the Meetei youth club and police.
Luckily, although there were no family members of K Somen Singh at the house which they have occupied on rent, it was secured due to the strong presence of police personnel, as curfew was imposed in the area.
In regards to the incident at Khuga Tampak, the DC of Churachandpur has imposed 144 Cr PC 1973 whereby prohibiting any form of public movement outside their residence with immediate effect until further order with the covered area being the whole of KhugaTampak, Churachandpur.
The DC of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav, in his prohibition order, also said that any person/ organisation/institution found violating the curfew imposed shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under relevant provision of Indian Penal Code.
