CCPUR: A cage culture was inaugurated on Wednesday at Khuga Reservoir’s Geljang Resort Centre, Churachandpur by MH Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (Fisheries), under the auspices of District Fishery Officer, Churachandpur.
About 100 kilograms of fingerlings were released to mark the occasion. The cage culture was constructed under the Blue Revolution: IDMF, 2018-19 for 18 beneficiaries of the district.
Amongst others, the programme was attended by Pawan Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur; N Gojendro, Director of Fisheries; and other officials from the Fisheries Department.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries urged the beneficiaries and locals to judiciously nurture the fingerlings and also encouraged them to use the facility to their benefits.
Significantly, the Deputy Commissioner promised to revamp the approach road under MGNREGA. At the same time, the department officials also assured that more projects would be implemented in the coming days for the benefits of the local farmers there.
