CAF & PD Minister hands over honorarium to DSOs of 46 ACs

Imphal: CAF & PD Minister KaramShyam assured that NFSA cardholders will continue getting their rightful foodgrains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMKAY) scheme from July to November 2020. He was speaking at a press conference held at his Old Secretariat office today.

Speaking to media persons, Minister KaramShyam stated that the economic condition of the country is drastically hit by the COVID-19 outbreak that affected the lives of almost 1 crore 30 lakhs people globally. The crisis also poses a serious problem to the livelihood of the farmers and labourers of the country who work at the grassroots level, he also said.

He also appreciated the role of FPS agents, DSOs and DCs concerned of the state in rendering selfless service to the public by distributing PDS items during this time of pandemic.

Minister KaramShyam also handed over an honorarium amounting to Rs.2,48,64,912 to the District Supply Officers of 46 ACs of Manipur for a period of 6 months as a mark of recognition and encouragement for rendering public service responsibly during the Covid outbreak. Out of all the districts of the State, 5 districts i.e. Tamenglong, Senapati, Chandel, Noney and Tengnoupal are still yet to receive the margin money honorarium.

Commissioner CAF & PD Bobby Waikhom, Director CAF & PD Ranjan Yumnam and DSO officials of the concerned districts were also present during the press briefing.
