Budget session of Manipur Assembly to commence from Feb 14

IMPHAL: The budget session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly will be held from February 14 to February 28. The session which would go on for 15 days will have 11 sittings and there would be no sitting for four days.

The BAC meeting held on Wednesday with Speaker Y Khemchand in the chair finalized the provisional calendar of sitting. As per the schedule, Governor will address the House at 11 am on the first day of the session, which will be followed by Motion of Thanks, obituary reference, presentation of BAC report 2020, etc. The government will present the Supplementary Demands for Grants 20119-20, Budget Estimate 2020-21 in the house on the opening day.

There will be no sittings on Saturday and Sunday.

On February 17, there will be question hour, Genera discussion on Supplementary demands for rants 2019-20, Discussion and voting on demands for supplementary grants 2019-20, General discussion on Budget estimate 2020-21, introduction of the Manipur Appropriation no 1 bill 2020, discussion on Governor’s address.

On February 18, there will be Question hour, Presentation of committee report, (If any), Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 on State Legislature, Council of ministers, Secretariat, Transport, MAHUD and Relief & Disaster Management, Introduction of Govt bill (if any) and Consideration and passing of the Manipur Appropriation no 1 bill 2020.

On February 19, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for PWD, Co-operation, Administration of justice, Social welfare dept, Science and Technology and Economics and statistics.

On February 20, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for Labour and employment, Dept of Tribal Affairs and Hill development, Forest and Environment, Power, Arts and Culture and Information Technology.

On February 21, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for CAF&PD department, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary including Diary farm, Community and Rural development, PHED, Planning, MOBC. Private members resolution) if any).

On February 24, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for Police, Agriculture, Vigilance & Anti-corruption cell, Fire Protection and Control, Jail, Home Guard, Fisheries.

On February 25, there will be question hour, Presentation of committee report, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for Land Revenue, Finance, YAS, State Excise, Sales tax, others taxes and duties on commodities and services, State Academy of Training.

On February 26, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for Information and Publicity, Medical Health and Family Welfare, Commerce and Industries, Rehabilitation, Printing and Stationary, Panchayat.

O February 27, there will be question hour, Discussion and voting on Demands for grants 2020-21 for Education, Election, Minor Irrigation, Sericulture, Water Resources, Horticulture and soil conservation department and Tourism, introduction of Manipur Appropriation no.2 bill 2020.

On February 28, there will be question hour followed by Consideration and passing of Manipur Appropriation no.2 bill 2020/Government bills, Private member resolution (if any).
