IMPHAL: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West on February 10 remanded 30 year old Angom Friday into judicial custody in connection with brutal physical assault of his ex-girlfriend at a garden located at Changangei.
The act of the accused committing a crime of physical assault to his ex-girlfriend went viral on social media site during early part of February this year.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim before Lamphel police station on February 5 stating that on February 3 at around 2.30 pm her ex-boyfriend identified as Angom Friday @ Tomba @ Eraijao, son of late Pakchao of Phayeng Ching Khunou, who was in relationship with her in 2015 and had no further communication after 2015, had physically assaulted her by punching her on her head, tummy and hips and also hit her head on the wall of the garden.
As a result she received severe injuries at her head and hips and the incident happened just because the accused want his mobile phone but since she knew the intention of the alleged accused she refused him after which the accused started to indulge in violent act.
Based on the compliant of the victim a regular case was registered against the accused and during the course of investigation the accused surrendered himself before Lamphel police station on February 7 and during interrogation he admitted to have committed the charges leveled against him.
After the completion of police custody remand the alleged accused was produced before the court of CJM, Imphal West along with the prayer for remanding the alleged accused in judicial custody remand till February 24
The court after hearing the submission of the prayer and on perusal of the case record remanded the accused into judicial custody remand till February 24.
A day after the accused was remanded into judicial custody remand his counsel filed an application for releasing him on bail in connection with the case and on the same day registered a Cril misc bail case and fixed February 14 for the bail hearing and asked the prosecution to submit objection report along with case dairy on or before February 14.
