IMPHAL: A newly constructed Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Chikkim Village, Moreh was jointly inaugurated and handed over to the village authorities by Sh. M Raj Kumar Singh (IAS), DC Tengnoupal and Assam Rifles authorities on Monday.
The VTC was constructed by the Assam Rifles under Border Area Development Programme (BADP). The Additional SP (Operations), ADC Moreh, Customs Department officials and leaders of Civil Society Organisations of Moreh, IGAR(S) said in a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles in ensuring high quality of construction and commissioning of the project a time bound manner. He urged the village authorities on effective utilisation of the newly created infrastructure for skill development of the youth, IGAR(S) said.
The community leaders and common villager expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for the noble cause and ensured their continuous support in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
Assam Rifles has been instrumental in executing numerous development works in the border town under BADP and Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
