IMPHAL: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Manipur State (BMSMS) has appealed to the concerned authority of railway booking office to acknowledge through the media the amount of refund made so far for cancelled railway tickets which were booked before the lockdown.
In a press release of BMSMS signed by vice-president A. Premkumar Singh, it was stated that the concern ticket holders approached the booking office which is located at Moirangkhom in connection with refund for their tickets amid the lockdown since the day order was served by the railway ministry that such tickets would be refunded. Despite hectic efforts from the ticket holders attempts to meet the competent officers of the railway booking office have failed, it added.
Further, many inconveniences were faced by the concern tickets holders during this Covid-19 lockdown due to the booking staffs not attending the office, the statement stated while seeking for an alternative arrangement at the earliest in order to lighten up the inconveniences and troubles being faced by the cancelled tickets holders during the lockdown.
On the other hand, the BMSMS appreciated the railway ministry for the arrangement of Shramik Train which enable the ferrying of the stranded migrant workers to their homes. Further, it appealed to the public to adhere to physical distancing to prevent the spread of Covid-19 disease as a gesture of supporting the initiative of the state government.
