IMPHAL: Discontent over the appointment of office bearers within the BJP organization has seemingly erupted after some members of Bharatiya Juva Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Manipur Pradesh, in an unprecedented incident, stormed the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek Imphal on Tuesday demanding the removal of the newly appointed BJYM president.
Shouting slogans against the incumbent youth chief, the irate BJYM members stormed the party office. Deputy Speaker K Robindro and MLA L Shisildro were also seen taking part in the protest.
Getting information, Imphal West Police team rushed to the spot and managed to control the situation.
Ksh Priyobrata, executive member BJYM who took part in the protest alleged that newly appointed BJYM president namely Koijam Ramkrishna is not competent enough to hold the post as there is enough evidence of his anti-party activities. He has made no contribution to BJP and had already been expelled from BJP Thangmeiband Mandal as he was found supporting a CPI candidate, Priyobrata alleged.
Strongly decrying the appointment of such ‘tainted’ individuals as the youth frontal organization leader of the party after sidelining all other competent individuals who have suffered long for the party, he questioned the state Pradesh president how the expelled individual was appointed as president of BJYM.
We are here to protest to save the future of BJYM. We will never work under such a tainted youth president who works under CPI flag, he said.
