IMPHAL: Bhakta Charan Das, AICC in-charge Manipur on Thursday slammed the Centre for passing the Farm Bills saying that it is anti-farmer and the central government is acting up like zamindari system.
The Congress leader was addressing the press at Congress Bhavan on Thursday before leaving the state following his three days visit to Imphal. The press meet was also attended by MPCC President M.Okendro, CLP leader O.Ibobi MLA Gaikhangam and other MLAs and members.
Bhakta Charan Das said that the government has destroyed the democratic system. The agricultural bills are neither in the interest of the state government nor the farmers, he said adding that the BJP government does not lay out any such creative, productive, helpful policies or laws for the farmers. The recent bill is like a draconian law to the farmer, Das asserted.
The Congress party in all the states will launch agitation against such anti-farmer bill, otherwise farmers and people will be enslaved. This is total injustice to the farmer and some kind of black law the country has witnessed, he added.
Das also stated that the Central government is misguiding the people and compared the farm bills to demonetization which is still affecting the common man till today.
He appealed that it is the right time that the farmers, youngsters of the nation to open up their mouth and raise voices against this government’s policy.
