IMPHAL: The State Institute of Journalism, DIPR, Manipur inaugurated a two weeks short term course on ‘Basics of News Reporting’ at Kasturba Girls High School, Jiribam District headquarters on 17th February 2020. K. Sarat Kumar Singh, Vice Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd. was the chief guest of the inaugural function.
N. Bankim Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam District, Sri Ng. Biswajit Singh, President, All Jiribam Working Journalists’ Union, Jiribam, Mutum Maipaksana Mangang, Chairman, Jiri United Committee, Jiribam and N. Bidyananda, Translator (Hindi), DIPR, Manipur also attended the simple function.
The objective of the course is to spread awareness and teach interested individuals to understand the basics of News gathering, News writing and the importance of News in a short time.
Earlier, SIJ had conducted a two weeks short term course on “Impact of Social Media”, at Moreh College, Moreh, Tengnoupal on 4th-18th November, 2019.
SIJ, since its inception in 1992, has been conducting short-term training courses, seminars and workshops in diverse fields and disciplines of Journalism and Mass Communication from time-to-time.
