IMPHAL: The All Tribal Rights’ Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has make a final appeal to the State Government and the concerned authorities of TA and Hills to disburse or transfer the fund to the beneficiaries under family oriented schemes and scholarships for ST students for the financial years of 2018-19 and 2019-20.
ATRPFM, in a press statement, said that the funds for 2018-19 have been partly disbursed to some beneficiaries but there are still many others who have not received the said funds till date.
It mentioned that it was highly uncalled for on the part of the State Government and the concerned authorities of TA and Hills to withhold the scholarships of the students for such a long period, alleging that the funds of family oriented schemes have been diverted resulting in the failure to disburse and transfer the scholarship to the beneficiaries.
The forum went on to add that it was a clear indication that some officers have been playing games with the funds of the TA & Hills. ATRPFM will no longer remain silent saying that it has repeatedly made requests and approached the Minister, TA and Hills and also the concerned staff of the Department.
“ATRPFM was repeatedly fooled by the government and the concerned authorities with a false promise again and again, hence ATRPFM would take its own course of action without further communication in the matter if the Government and the concerned authorities of TA and Hills fail to discharge their duties within the month of September, 2020,” it added.
