One remanded in judicial custody, two others arrested formally

IMPHAL: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West remanded one of the alleged accused in judicial custody remand in connection with ATM skimming case while remaining two other alleged accused were formally arrested by Crime Cyber Police station in another FIR case.

The accused of identified as Sanjay Kumar (35), S/o Chandra Singh of Sultanpuri, Nithari Delhi; Krishan Rana (29), S/o Rajibir of Bhiwani Haryana and Ashok Kumar (38), S/o Balbir of Sultanpuri Delhi were produced before the court after the completion of police custody remand by a team of Cyber crime police station along with the prayer for remanding the alleged accused persons in judicial custody remands.

The court on perused of the case record and after hearing the submission of both parties found satisfied with the police prays and thus remanded all the alleged accused persons into judicial custody remand March 20.

In the meantime another team of Cyber crime filed an application for making arrested of two alleged accused persons identified as Sanjay kumar and Ashok Kumar in connection with another FIR case registered before Cyber crime police station Manipur.

The IO of the case through APP submitted that on August 31, 2018 a complaint was lodge by Shagolsem Tombi of Langthabal Mantrikhong stating that he went to Guwahati for a treatment for his son and withdraw Rs. 2, 000 from an ATM located at FBL Guwahati form his SBI account.

On August 30, 2018 after he had returned back from treatment of his son and while checking his mobile phone at his residence, he received SMS showing fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 78, 0000 from his wife account.

The IO further submitted that while recording statement of the alleged accused persons in connection with previous case and analysis of CCTv footage received on November 2018, it is made out that the alleged accused persons Sanjay Kumar and Ashok Kumar were involved in ATM skimming act on ATM at SBI Kamakhya Gate on August 30, 2018 and prayer for making formal arrest of alleged accused in connection with the case for further investigation.

The court on perusal of the application filed and after hearing the submission of APP and IO of the case found satisfied with the police prayer for proper investigation and hence remanded the alleged accused persons into two days in police custody remand.
