Imphal: In continuation of the State Government’s initiative to ensure availability of foodgrain to its residents during the ongoing lockdown, Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of the State carry on with lifting of PDS rice from certain godowns located at various parts of the State.
Keishamthong AC and Wangoi AC of Imphal West District had completely lifted their allocated quotas of 1,459.05 quintal and 1,668.1 quintal of rice respectively, allocated for the month of July, under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) today. In the District, four ACs namely Sagolband, Singjamei, Patsoi and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa are yet to lift their allocated PMGKAY rice for July as of now.
Under PMGKAY, Jiribam AC today had completely lifted its allocated 1,870.70 quintal of rice for July from FCI godown, Jiribam. Tamenglong AC of Tamenglong District and Nungba AC of Noney District also lifted 840 quintal and 171 quintal of rice respectively allocated for the current month under the same scheme today.
In Churachandpur District, today, Saikot AC lifted 1,275.95 quintal of PMGKAY rice while Churachandpur AC reported lifting of 1,868.31 quintal of NFSA rice.
Thoubal District had started lifting of PMGKAY rice allocated for August with Khangabok AC and Heirok AC lifting 2,234 quintal and 1,902.70 quintal respectively today. Ukhrul AC of Ukhrul District also lifted 1,246.85 quintal of PMGKAY rice allocated for August from FCI godown located at the District.
Karong AC of Senapati District too lifted 1,532.35 quintal of rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and 1,674.05 quintal of PMGKAY rice today completing its allocated quota for the month of August under the two schemes.
