Arrested kidnappers sent to 15 days judicial custody

All the arrested four kidnappers who had kidnapped two persons from Thangal Bazar demanding ransom money of Rs. 50 lakh had been remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

They were all arrested by a team of Thoubal District Police under the supervision of SP Thoubal Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh on Thursday morning last and produced before the CJM Thoubal on Monday.

The kidnappers  who are sent to jail are identified as Kangabam Jadumani Singh (50 years), son of Kangabam Dijamani @ Tejamani Singh of Charangpat Mamang Leikai; Ningthoujam Romajit Singh (35), son of Ningthoujam Khomdom Singh of Bengi Makha Leikai;  Nahakpam Meme Devi (49), wife of Nahakpam Narjit Singh of Charangpat Maning Leikai, Thoubal District and Thiyam Joyshree Devi (45), wife of (L) Heisnam Robin Singh of Heirangoithong Bazar, Imphal West.

They had allegedly kidnapped  Birendra Saha (40), son of Khailawan Saha of Bihar a/p Thangal Bazar near Kasturi Bridge and Sanjoy Patel (40), son of Arjun Choudhury of Bihar a/p Sani Mandir, Thangal Bazar and demanded a ransom money of rupees 50 lakhs.

They were safely rescued on Thursday by a special team of Thoubal district police formed under the supervision of SP Thoubal.

The police team  also recovered one white Bolero jeep, a .32 pistol (No. 606485 by Czechoslovakia)  along with one magazine, 5 live rounds and six mobile phones from the arrested kidnappers.
