IMPHAL: Chandel Battlalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised an Ex-Servicemen Meet (ESM)at Chandel on Wednesday.
Informing this, a press release stated that during the meet, the Commandant highlighted that ex-servicemen continue to be an important constituent of the society and have a very big potential to make positive contribution towards nation building. A total of 163 persons including 84 ex-servicemen, 3 Veer Naris, 76 widows and families attended the meet. During the interaction, progress on various grievances of the Ex-servicemen was explained and different pension anomalies were addressed. Veterans were briefed about various government schemes pertaining to the welfare of the senior citizens and their families. AII the attendees were exhorted to actively participate in such meets so that they are updated of various schemes and are able to draw maximum benefits.
The note stated that at the end of the event Veer Naris were felicitated by the Commandant. The Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and dependents extended their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for taking good care for the veterans and their families.
