AR holds friendly football and volleyball matches

Imphal: Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a friendly football and volleyball matches with youth of P Sejol, Hengkom & Pangsang villages, Churachandpur District, Manipur on Monday.

The football and volleyball matches were organised as part of ‘Fit India Movement’ in order to foster healthy relations with the local youths and students, conveyed a press release of IGAR (S).

After the match, an interaction with youths was carried out wherein they were briefed and encouraged to join Indian Armed Forces through various type of entries.

Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) also organised a volleyball competition at Lilong, Thoubal district.

In continuation with the efforts of Assam Rifles to reach out to youths and assist them in the upliftment of mental and physical health, a volleyball competition was organised at Lilong. The Assam Rifles aimed to harness the unlimited potential of youths of Manipur and further increase their contributions in sports activities in India, said the press release.  

A total of 10 students participated in the match and a healthy strength of locals witnessed the match.

Phundrei Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) also organised a volleyball match at Wangjing Khunou Public Ground, Kakching district.

The Assam Rifles organised the friendly volleyball match for the local youths to promote Khelo India initiative of Government of India and to foster sportsmanship among the local youths.

At the culmination of the event, a prize distribution ceremony was organised, added the press release.
