IMPHAL: Tengnoupal Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) dedicated Water Supply Scheme to New Narum village in Tengnoupal District on 02 March 2020.
New Narum is a remotely located village in the vicinity of Indo-Myanmar Border, far away from main stream societies of Manipur. Meeting routine requirement is a challenge for villagers of New Narum as it is devoid of basic infrastructure to sustain livelihood, IGAR(S) said. Water is basic necessity to sustain life which is also required to fulfill inescapable essentials in routine life like drinking, cooking, bathing etc. The villagers were facing acute shortage of water especially during dry season as no permanent source of water and facility to store it were existing in village.
