IMPHAL: As part of its continuous endeavour in extending medical support in the remote villages of Sajik valley, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp in the remote border village of M Lebanon on Sunday.
The troops conducted a lecture-demonstration on the dangers of COVID-19 pandemic, recommended preventive measures and standard precautions to be adopted to prevent its spread. The lecture concluded with a talk on health education, general hygiene and sanitation, IGAR(S) said in a press release.
The aim of the camp was to cater for the basic medical requirements of the local population of the remote area due to non availability of public health centres and the difficult socio-economic conditions, IGAR(S) said.
The villagers appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in effectively raising awareness and fighting this COVID-19 global pandemic.
