IMPHAL: Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted an Anti Drug Awareness Drive for drug free Manipur on Wednesday.
The awareness drive under the theme “United we stand to fight against drugs for a drug free Manipur” was organised by Sagolmang Company Operating Base (COB) at Peace Ideal Academy, Pukhao village in Imphal East District. The drive was planned in response to the concerns of students and staff members under danger of falling prey to the drug menace, the IGAR(S) said in a press release.
As part of the drive, an interactive lecture on harmful effect of drugs was conducted to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs and to guide everyone to lead a healthy life. In addition, an interactive session was also organised in which various queries of the attendees were answered followed by an awareness rally. The event gave an insight to the students about harmful effects of drugs on the human body. The drive was a success in educating the students on this sensitive issue and various measures to counter the drug menace. A total of 61 Students and 03 Staff members participated in event.
The attendees expressed profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organising such educational drive and appreciated the efforts and commitment of Assam Rifles to the cause of making Manipur a Drug Free State.
