IMPHAL: The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has said that in the wake of the pandemic of Coronavirus, schools and its stakeholders have been adversely affected and it is deeply concerned for the continuation of teaching-learning activities during pandemic and post pandemic.
Further, ANSAM said it has come to their knowledge that confusion and tussle have cropped up amongst the stakeholders due to various factors that can further affect the sustenance of school education.
In directive press note signed by Education Secretary of ANSAM Ruwnglar Elly the association expressed that in accordance with the resolution vide number one of ANSAM Presidential Council Meeting, dated November 25, 2020, in the light of sustaining school education in Naga areas during pandemic and post pandemic, this directive is being served to all the concern school authority and their stakeholders that the ceiling amount of school fees collection from the students shall be determined at the rate of 50% of total cost for the student up to 10th standard and school authority should pay minimum salary at the rate of 50% of total pay to the teachers with effect from the month of April 2020 till the end of current academic year.
While this is mandatory for all concerned, schools and stakeholders may further decide an agreeable amount of fees amongst themselves without exceeding the fixed ceiling of 50%. To protect the right to education and in furthering the career of the students throughout the present academic session school authority may ensure continuation of teaching-learning and other academic activities through various viable mediums that are deemed fit.
Federating and subordinate units of ANSAM have been assigned to oversee to ensure strict compliance of this directive in their respective administrative jurisdiction, it added.
